Alfred Brown
Alfred Ray “Pappy” Brown, 87 of Rising Sun, Ind., died, Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, in Rising Sun, Ind.
He was born Saturday, May 20, 1923, in Aliquippa, Pa., son of the late Alfred David Brown and the late Lettie Rider Brown.
He served his Country as a World War II Army Veteran.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Interstate Amisite Corp, retiring after over 18 years of service. Ray was a superintendant and one of his projects was helping build the Pennsylvania Turnpike. He loved coon hunting and playing with his great-grandchildren.
Surviving are son, Butch (Teresa) Brown of Rising Sun, Ind.; grandchild, Tiffany Sue Taylor Brown of Rising Sun, Ind.; several other grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; sister, Betty Bondurant of Rising Sun, Ind., and a large extended family including five great -grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
There will be a memorial visitation Friday, Jan. 7, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Vevay, Ind.
